We’ll work together to plan out a timeline that feels best for your event and for the moments you want to make sure are captured. I always aim for photo galleries that tell a story, not just “big moments.”
Candid & documentary photography shows the day as it happens, most of the time without posing or prompting. I prioritize seeing and capturing moments as they unfold and you walk through your wedding day. Certain times of the day I do prompt or pose you as needed (like family photos or couple’s portrait time) but I try to take a backseat and let the day and the emotions and events speak for themselves.
If the venue is spread out, multiple important events are happening at the same time (like family photos during cocktail hour) or you have a large wedding - absolutely! A second photographer allows more complete and stress-free coverage of the day.
Film is a lovely, and sometimes fickle, medium. My aim is to shoot as much film as I can, while not compromising the detailed documentation of the day. If a moment is less film friendly (i.e. dark lighting or fast paced) I’ll capture more digitally. If time and lighting allows, I’ll capture more on film. Typically this means around 10% of your gallery will be film images. That number may fluctuate depending on the day, but it’s a typical baseline.
As much as you want me to! I photograph both photojournalistically - allowing moments to unfold as they will naturally - and with posing in the moments that need a little more direction. My goal is to capture all moments in a way that feels authentic to both who you are and the moment itself.
